Part 1

Very early on the first day of the week, two friends of Jesus named Mary went to visit the tomb where He had been laid. Their hearts were very sad, because they missed their Teacher.

They worried about the big, heavy stone that closed the entrance to the tomb. How would they be able to move it to see Jesus one last time? Everything seemed dark and hopeless.

Part 2

Suddenly, the earth shook! An angel of the Lord, shining like lightning and with clothes as white as snow, came down from heaven. The guards watching the tomb were so scared that they fell to the ground as if they had fainted.

The angel easily rolled the heavy stone aside and sat on it. He looked at the women with a gentle smile and told them not to be afraid.

The Angel: Don't be afraid! I know you are looking for Jesus. He is not here; He has risen, just as He said!

Part 3

The angel invited the women to look inside the tomb. It was empty! The place where Jesus had been laid was tidy, but He was no longer there. Their sadness began to turn into wonder and joy.

Then, the angel gave them a very important mission: "Go quickly and tell His disciples that He has risen from the dead!" The women, filled with fear and immense joy, ran off to obey.

Part 4

As they ran to tell the great news, someone appeared on the path. It was Jesus Himself! He said: "Rejoice!". They were so happy that they knelt down and held His feet.

Jesus, with great tenderness, calmed their hearts. He asked them to continue their mission and tell His friends to go to a place called Galilee, because there they would see Him too.

Part 5

Later, Jesus appeared to all His disciples, just as He had promised. He gave them the most special job in the world: to go everywhere and tell everyone about His love and His salvation.

He did not leave them alone in this task. Jesus made a wonderful promise that is still true for us today, to give us courage and hope at all times.

“And I will be with you always, to the very end of the age.” — Matthew 28:20
