Part 1

On the road out of the city of Jericho, a blind man named Bartimaeus sat by the roadside. He couldn't work, so he begged from the people passing by.

One day he heard the noise of a crowd coming. Who could it be?

"Blind Bartimaeus, the son of Timaeus, was sitting by the road." — Mark 10:46

Part 2

When Bartimaeus found out that it was Jesus passing by, he started to shout very loudly.

Many people told him to be quiet. But Bartimaeus didn't give up: he shouted even louder!

Bartimaeus to Jesus: Jesus, you son of David, have mercy on me!

Part 3

Jesus stopped and asked for Bartimaeus to be called. The people said to him: "Cheer up! Get up. He is calling you!"

Bartimaeus threw off his cloak, jumped up, and came to Jesus. Jesus asked: "What do you want me to do for you?"

Bartimaeus to Jesus: Rabboni, that I may see again.

Part 4

Right away, Bartimaeus's eyes were opened! He saw the colors, the people, and the face of Jesus.

And Bartimaeus didn't go back to the roadside: he followed Jesus.

Bartimaeus teaches us to talk to Jesus even when others tell us to be quiet. Jesus always stops to listen to whoever calls him!

"Jesus said to him, 'Go your way. Your faith has made you well.' Immediately he received his sight, and followed Jesus on the way." — Mark 10:52
