Christmas

Do Not Be Afraid

"Then the angel said to them, "Do not be afraid, for behold, I bring you good tidings of great joy.""
Luke 2:10

Reflection

The angel started by taking the fear away and then gave the news. That is God’s way: calm first, speak second.

Prayer

God, take away my fear and fill me with joy. Amen!

Talk about it as a family

  1. Why did the angel say do not be afraid?
  2. How does God calm us before speaking?
  3. What good news would make you very happy?

5-minute activity

Turn off the light and suddenly switch on a flashlight, like the light that shone on the shepherds. Then each person shares a piece of good news they received this year. Read Luke 2:9-10.
