The full story: Paul's First Journey

Part 1

In the city of Antioch, Jesus' friends were together, praying and worshiping God. They loved the Lord very much and wanted to serve Him with all their hearts.

As they prayed, the Holy Spirit gave a special instruction. He told them to set apart Barnabas and Saul for a very important mission. So, the church prayed for them and sent them on a big adventure to tell other people about Jesus.

Part 2

Paul (who used to be called Saul) and Barnabas got on a boat and sailed to an island called Cyprus. There, the island's governor wanted to hear their message, but a magician tried to mess everything up.

By God's power, Paul made the magician blind for a while. When the governor saw this miracle, he was amazed and believed in the Lord's message.

The Governor: Wow! What you teach about the Lord is truly real and powerful!

Part 3

They continued their journey to another city. On the day of rest, Paul went to the synagogue and told the most important story of all: how God had promised a Savior, and that Savior was Jesus!

Many people were so excited that they asked them to come back the next week. They really wanted to learn more about the good news of Jesus and His great love.

Part 4

However, not everyone was happy. Some religious leaders became jealous when they saw the crowds following Paul and Barnabas. They started saying bad things and causing trouble for them.

With courage, Paul and Barnabas said they would take the message to those who wanted to hear it. Even though they faced difficulties, they left for the next city full of joy and the Holy Spirit.

Part 5

In a city called Lystra, a miracle happened. Paul healed a man who had never walked in his entire life! The people were so astonished that they thought they were gods, but Paul and Barnabas quickly explained that only God should be worshiped.

After going through many cities and teaching many people, they finally returned to Antioch. They gathered the church and told them all the wonderful things God had done through them.

“They reported how many things God had done through them...” — Acts 14:27
