The Name Immanuel
"And they shall call His name Immanuel, which is translated, "God with us.""Matthew 1:23
Reflection
That is the most beautiful name of Jesus. Not God far away, nor God watching from above: God with us, right here.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for being God with me. Amen!
Talk about it as a family
- What does Immanuel mean?
- What is the difference between God far away and God with us?
- Where do you need to remember God is with you?
5-minute activity
Write "Immanuel: God with us" on several slips of paper and hide them around the house: in a backpack, under a pillow, on a mirror. Whoever finds one reads it aloud. Read Matthew 1:23.
