He Called Her Name
"Jesus said to her, "Mary!" She turned and said, "Rabboni!""John 20:16
Reflection
Mary was crying and did not even recognize Jesus. Then He said her name, and everything changed. God knows your name and knows exactly where you are.
Prayer
Jesus, thank You for knowing me by name. Amen!
Talk about it as a family
- Why didn't Mary recognize Jesus at first?
- What changed when He said her name?
- How does it feel to know Jesus knows your name?
5-minute activity
Play a voice game: with eyes closed, the child guesses who in the family is saying their name. Talk about how Mary recognized Jesus' voice. Read John 20:11-18.
