The full story: Peter Walks on Water

Part 1

It was late at night, and the disciples were in a boat in the middle of the lake. The wind was blowing hard, and the waves were big. They were very scared!

Suddenly, they saw a figure walking on the water toward them. "It's a ghost!" they cried out, terrified.

"But Jesus quickly told them, 'Cheer up! It is I. Don't be afraid!'" — Matthew 14:27

Part 2

Peter, always brave, said, "Lord, if it's really you, tell me to come to you on the water!"

And Jesus said, "Come!"

Peter got out of the boat and, amazingly, began to walk on the water! As long as he looked at Jesus, everything was fine. But when he looked at the waves and the wind, he got scared... and began to sink!

Peter: Lord, save me!" — and Jesus reached out his hand and held him.

Part 3

Jesus immediately grabbed Peter's hand and said, "You have so little faith! Why did you doubt?"

When the two of them got into the boat, the wind stopped. The disciples knelt down and said, "You really are the Son of God!"

Peter's story teaches us: as long as we keep our eyes on Jesus, we can face any storm in life!

"When he started to sink, he cried out, 'Lord, save me!'" — Matthew 14:30
