The full story: Nehemiah Rebuilds the Walls

Part 1

Far away, in the city of Jerusalem, the walls that protected God's people were broken. The people who lived there were sad and in danger.

Nehemiah was a good man who worked for a powerful king. When he heard the news about Jerusalem, his heart felt very heavy, and he cried. Then, he did the most important thing he could do: he prayed to God, asking for help.

Part 2

The king saw that Nehemiah was sad and asked what had happened. With a quick prayer in his heart, Nehemiah told the king about Jerusalem's walls. Bravely, he asked for permission to go and rebuild them.

Because God's good hand was on him, the king said 'yes'! The king even gave Nehemiah letters for a safe journey and wood for the city's new gates. God was already making a way.

Part 3

When Nehemiah arrived in Jerusalem, he rode quietly at night to see the broken walls. It was a giant job, but Nehemiah knew that God was even bigger.

The next day, he gathered the people and encouraged them to start the great work. All the families joined in, each taking a part of the wall to fix. With tools in their hands and hearts full of hope, they began to work together.

Nehemiah: Come, let's rebuild the wall of Jerusalem! The God of heaven will give us success.

Part 4

But some enemies didn't like this at all. They laughed at the people and tried to scare them into stopping the building. They even planned to attack the city to stop the work.

Nehemiah, however, was not afraid. He told the people to trust God and keep working. He organized the builders: half built, while the other half stood guard with swords and shields, ready to protect everyone.

Part 5

They worked hard, day and night, never giving up. And in just fifty-two days, something wonderful happened: the wall was complete! It was strong and tall, protecting the city again.

When the enemies saw the wall finished, they realized that such a great work could only have been done with God's help. The people of Jerusalem celebrated with great joy, thanking God for His amazing help and protection.

So the wall was finished... in fifty-two days. — Nehemiah 6:15
