Gideon the Valiant
"The Lord is with you, you mighty man of valor!"Judges 6:12
Reflection
Gideon was hiding in fear when the angel called him valiant. God sees who we can become, not only who we are being.
Prayer
God, thank You for seeing in me what I cannot see yet. Amen!
Talk about it as a family
- What was Gideon doing when the angel came?
- Why did the angel call him valiant?
- What do you think God sees you can become?
5-minute activity
Make Gideon's jars: put a flashlight inside a paper bag or jar. In a dark room, uncover the lights together on a signal and shout. Talk about God using someone who was afraid. Read Judges 6:11-16 and 7:19-21.
