The full story: The Lost Sheep

Part 1

Jesus told a story about a shepherd who had a hundred sheep. He loved each one by name! One day, as he counted his sheep, he realized, "Oh no! One is missing!"

Even though he had ninety-nine others safe, he didn't give up on the one that was gone. He went searching through mountains and valleys until he found it.

Suppose one of you has a hundred sheep and loses one of them. Doesn't he leave the ninety-nine others and go and look for the lost sheep? — Luke 15:4

Part 2

When the shepherd finally found his lost little lamb, he wasn't angry. He gently placed it on his shoulders with great joy and went back home!

He called his friends and threw a party. Jesus said that God is like that shepherd: He loves us so much that He always wants to find us and bring us close to Him!

Rejoice with me; I have found my lost sheep! — Luke 15:6
