Summary for the teacher
God wanted to live close to his people and had them build a holy chest, the Ark of the Covenant, made of wood covered in gold, with two gold cherubim on the lid. Inside were the tablets of the law, a jar of manna, and Aaron’s staff. The Ark reminded the people that God was always with them.
