The Father Who Waits

"When he was still a great way off, his father saw him and had compassion."
Luke 15:20

Reflection

The father ran before the son even finished apologizing. That is how God waits for whoever comes back: no scolding, arms already open.

Prayer

Father, thank You for always welcoming me back. Amen!

Talk about it as a family

  1. What did the father do when he saw his son?
  2. Did he scold him?
  3. How does God welcome us back?

5-minute activity

Act out the story: the child walks to the far side of the room and slowly comes back, and the grown-up runs to give a big hug. Then switch roles. Read Luke 15:11-24.
