The father ran before the son even finished apologizing. That is how God waits for whoever comes back — no scolding, arms already open.

5-minute activity
Act out the story: the child walks away to the other side of the room and then comes back slowly, and the grown-up runs to give a big hug. Then switch roles. Read Luke 15:11-24.
