Luke 2 tells Christmas in an order a child can follow: Joseph and Mary travel to Bethlehem, the baby is laid in a manger because there was no room in the inn, the shepherds are keeping watch over their flock and the angels announce the Savior. Every word on this sheet is one of those scenes.
One way to run it: read Luke 2:1-20 aloud and have your child look for each word as soon as they hear it. At the end, ask what the shepherds did after they saw the baby. The answer is in verse 20: they went back glorifying and praising God.
In Luke 2:1-20, which tells of the journey to Bethlehem, the manger, the shepherds and the angels. Matthew 1:18-25 and 2:1-12 tell of the angel speaking to Joseph and the visit of the Magi.
They appear in Matthew 2, not Luke 2. The sheet only uses words from the Luke passage, so your child can find each one during the reading.
